We are fast catching up with the world in blogosphere. Recently the blog count in india crossed the 1 Million mark. However, this number is relatively less when we compare ourselves to other countries...

Maybe we can be satisfied that with the current level of access to technology and internet penetration levels in india, this number is no mean achievement. MSN Portal and Windows Live recently conducted a survey on the status of the indian blogosphere. It threw out some interesting food for thought. With more men folk dominating the indian blogosphere, self-expression and personal-development topped the list as the intended purposes.More details here.

Though many of us depend on blogs for our news and also develop views, indian blogosphere is too nascent to be called a fourth estate by itself. But there should be no doubt that Blogging will prove to be a key tool in this era of educated activist citizens.

This is a great site dedicated to Indian blogs. We need more blog reviews. Well done. Also check out www.subalterncinema.com/kishore, for a critique of Indian ”cinemas”.

Yes..I do agree that blogging hasn\’t caught the pace as in other countries but the trend of blogging in India is catching up now.
Blogging is about conversations among people in real time and real voices. That\’s what makes it sticky. Communities get built around these conversations. Sometimes with spontaneous order, at other times more gradually. We are witnessing the birth and growth of new Indian based blogs at a swift pace. Blogging has given best platform for the Indian users to express their views and opinions on any topic. The Indian IT population and the increasing count of Internet users in India has also given impetus to blogging.

Since blogs have given a platform for two way communication process unlike the traditional media therefore more and more Indians are making a shift towards blogging.

The future of blogging is indubitably bright in India and in the near future, India will turn out to be one of the world best blogging community.

Blogging will not remain restricted to fun and entertainment only in India. Instead, other sectors in India where blogging seemed to have found good audience are travel, entertainment, tourism, stock markets etc. Blogging is a ready opportunity available to companies in these sectors. Today the media is not only about a dozen media houses generating news contents and reviews. The new form of media called the social media is catching up at a rapid pace.

Oh,that’s a very good news.Another spice for the blogging people.
Anyway, for the car fanatics, here’s a brief update for you guys...

It should at least go down easy. Buick’s average buyer - now 68 - doesn’t like surprises, and he will find lots of familiar parts to go along with the proven platform, such as the 3800 V6 engine, 4-speed automatic transmission, most of the dimensions, cool Buick Rainier Brake Caliper and restrained styling. But several things elevate this beyond a simple rehash-and-rename job.’
